People and Culture

VP People & Culture

My name is David, I’m the founder and CEO of MediaValet; a cloud native, B2B, enterprise, SaaS company based in Vancouver, Canada. We’re now 10 years old, topping $10M in ARR, growing north of 50% per year (even in COVID), and about to hit 100 people on our team. We’re at an exciting inflection point in our business and ready to welcome our first VP of People & Culture to the team. As this person will be reporting directly to me, I’m handling this search personally.

Now, before you consider this role, you need to know that MediaValet is a little different. We’re truly people first. We think of our team and our customers before all else. If we get that right, we believe the rest just happens. To this end, we whole heartedly believe in the disciplines of design thinking, the use of highly intelligent cognitive tools, and a focus on transparency, diversity, equity, inclusion, change and employee experience.  We aren’t a traditional team so we don’t want a traditional HR department or leader. Our VP of People & Culture will be a leader who believes in, and embraces, the next evolution of HR and leadership.  Someone who will not only help nurture and grow our industry leading culture - but also add to it, as we continue to grow to 300+ people over the next few years.

The most important thing we want our VP of People & Culture to understand about us is that we win - every single day - because of our people and our culture; it’s what sets us apart from other companies – especially our competitors.  As a team, we’re highly empathetic, care about all those around us, and strive to enjoy the journey (together) as much as the destination.

As our VP of People & Culture, you’ll build your dream team from the ground up; you’ll craft a vision for what People and Culture means at MediaValet and how it will help us attract, retain and grow the best and brightest - globally; you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the employee experience and lifecycle, including: attracting, hiring, developing, retaining, rewarding, recognizing, and compensating the best DAM team!

Our goal is to create the next global Canadian brand but to do so with a “people first” strategy.

If you’ve found yourself sitting forward as you read this, and you’re yearning for a place where people and culture are highly coveted and considered a competitive advantage; and, you’re an HR professional with at least 10 years of experience, a natural leader, and a great coach; please connect with me on LinkedIn or email me directly at

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
