My name is Beth and I’m the VP of Marketing here at MediaValet. If rapidly growing Canadian tech companies are of interest to you, most likely you’ve heard of us. For those of you who are new to tech, here is a very quick and easy summary of who we are and what we do.
MediaValet is a rapidly growing cloud-based digital asset management (DAM) company that allows marketing and creative teams to easily access and use their rich media (photos, videos, graphics, etc.) from anywhere across the globe. We’re continually recognized as a leader and innovator in the SaaS world - in fact, we recently won Microsoft’s 2020 AI and Machine Learning IMPACT Award, and we were recognized as the 68th fastest growing SaaS organization in the world in SaaS Mag’s SaaS 1000 list! In the past year alone we’ve grown 102%.
As noted above our company is growing, and so is our marketing team. In just a few short months my team of 6 marketing gurus, as well as our handful of Business Development Reps, grew to also include an additional Marketing Coordinator, a second Demand Gen Specialist, and our first Marketing Operations Manager. This month we are excited to be welcoming to our team, our first Senior Product Marketing Manager, as well as our first Creative Marketing Director.
My vision for our newly created Creative Marketing Director position is that you will work closely with our Sr. Designer, and with the marketing department to deliver engaging content that meets the expectations of the team and market. To be a great fit with the team, you will be someone who is extremely creative, dedicated, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A day in the life of our Creative Marketing Director will always be fast-paced and with plenty of deadlines and projects running simultaneously. Company branding, promotional campaigns, and marketing communications will be a part of what you do each and every day. You’ll be actively creating, editing and enhancing marketing and advertising material including website, digital ads, print brochures, posters, flyers, and other related assets.
I’m looking for that person who is organized to a fault. Someone who fully utilizes project and asset management systems, while collaborating to ensure consistently integrated brand perception and user experience. Someone who is ready to contribute to the creation and evolution of internal design style guides, templates, tools, processes, and procedures.
As a senior, you’ll be a leader and mentor, as well as a guiding force for the creative team. You’re someone that easily goes between brainstorming meetings and creative sessions, to supervising workflow, assigning project workloads, and monitoring deadlines.
On your checklist of skills to succeed on our team you’ll want to have the following;
- Composition and typography
- Excellent design craft with an eye for detail and consistency
- Proficiency with design tools like Adobe CC
- Great organizational skills and are able to maintain a design system
- Are all about experimentation and learning fast
- Crave cross-functional and customer feedback to help you produce your best work.
- You love to contribute creative ideas during brainstorm sessions
- Love working with other team members to help them learn and grow, and also have them help you learn and grow
My team and I love what we do, and we are excited to work with others who share our passion for software, SaaS, and DAM. We’re a team that freely shares knowledge and experiences, and work towards common goals with each of us being the best at what we do. Every day we brainstorm not just with our own team, but also with our Product, CS, Sales, and Dev teams. To best describe our marketing team I’d say we are fast-paced, never afraid to try new ways of doing things, and are very collaborative.
