Business Development Representative

My name is Billy and I’m the Manager of the Business Development team here at MediaValet. If you’ve heard the terms Digital Asset Management (DAM) and ‘the Cloud’ then you may have heard about us.  A few years ago we set up shop here on the 5th floor of Homer Street in Yaletown.  In five years we’ve grown from a team of 6 people to over 40. We’re really hitting our stride with many companies around the world that need help managing their digital assets. Companies you know like A&W, Sunwing, Johnson and Johnson, and Dupont, are just a few of companies that are now part of the MediaValet family.

As head of Business Development, my team and I work alongside our awesome sales team to help educate companies about our software. The companies we speak with have crazy amounts of photos, videos and documents (we call them digital assets) and they need to be organized effectively in order to save time and money.

My team is talented and extremely hard working.  With plenty of funding having been raised, I want to keep the momentum going and drive the success of the entire business. Our CEO, David McLaren, described the work from the business development team as the ‘lifeblood of the organization’ so your work will certainly be held in high regard. In the last year our BDR’s have been promoted to management and to Account Executive roles, so you might even say I have a job that could turn your DAM life around 😉.

My ideal hire is an individual who is comfortable making cold calls (up to 50 a day) and engaging with senior executives in large organizations. You need to be able to roll with the punches as objection and rejection are a daily occurrence. A superstar BDR is someone who can stand out from the crowd and identify opportunities in the worlds biggest companies.

We have a fantastic team culture which we live by everyday. We like to have a good time both inside and outside of the office, with team breakfast held every Friday. We win more than we lose and always celebrate as a team.
